It’s my Uncles, he let me drive it around the neighborhood for a few minutes.

It’s still breaking in so I couldn’t really open it up, but a few impressions:

Holy shifter, Batman. Without a doubt the best manual transmission I’ve ever used. Clutch pedal was just the right weight, very easy to learn the grab point. The shifter feel was perfect, short and accurate throws.

Not a lot of low end torque, at least in context. It’s certainly no slouch, but down under 4000 RPM it doesn’t feel especially powerful. My Uncle said it really needs to be in the higher rev range to feel the torque, I believe him.

Sounds good. I’ve never been a big fan of Porsche 6 cyl sounds and this one still isn’t quite my taste, but it sounds good enough. Lots of pops and burbles which is always fun

We hit some curves on the short drive and my God does it handle. ‘On rails’ is an accurate descriptor in this case. I’d love to get it out on some really good empty roads and see what it can do

The car looks fantastic inside and out. The interior is stellar with lots of nice feeling alcantera all over the place. Steering wheel is just the right size.

Overall 10/10 want to drive again. It’s unfortunate I love so far away, but my uncle did say I should come out sometime and we can take it for a nice cruise. I'll try to make it happen.

the 911s, boxsters, and caymans have flat 6’s whereas i believe the cayennes and panameras have v6s.

i’d be careful in some auto circles poo-pooing the sound of a flat 6. :)

and those are good lookin cars. the GTS for virtually all porsche models is the the best option.

I'm sure some people like the sound, I'm just not a big fan. It doesn't sound bad, but it doesn't excite me as much as a V8

Porsche’s 6 speed manual transmission is one of the best available today.

The 7 speed in the 991 is nifty but I bet most 991 manual owners secretly wish they had the 6 speed.
